Beliefs

We believe that:

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. We accept the Bible, therefore, as our authority in all matters of faith and practice.

There is one and only one Living True God, who is Creator and Ruler of Heaven and Earth, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Man was created in the image of God. But by His own will, he fell into sin and out of harmony with God and is without hope in his sins.

The sinner can be saved by God’s grace through the work of God’s Son who took our nature upon Himself, yet without sin, and by His own obedience, even in death paid for our sins. He is the risen Lord now living and pleading for us at God’s throne. He is the only Saviour for men.

The Gospel makes forgiveness and the blessing of salvation free to all. Nothing prevents a man from being saved except for his own rejection of the Gospel. His rejection of Jesus Christ condemns him to eternal punishment.

Baptism is the immersion (dipping) in water of the believer in the Name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is a picture of death to sin and rising to a new life in Christ. The Lord’s Supper is a memorial in which by use of bread and wine, we remember the Scriptural death and love of Christ. Any person who has genuinely accepted Christ as Lord and Saviour can partake of it. These two ordinances are, however, not to be regarded as means to Salvation.

The Ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ. He indwells guides, instructs and empowers the Christian for Godly living and Service. We believe in all practical manifestations of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Every Christian has a role to play and can use their God-given skills and talents for the good of the church and the community. These gifts include teaching, evangelism, social action, pastoral care, prayer, healing, taking part in worship, administration or hospitality.

There is the personal and imminent coming of our Lord Jesus Christ; in the bodily resurrection of the believer to everlasting joy with the Lord and of the unbeliever to judgement and everlasting conscious punishment.

The true Church is composed of all those who are born again. We are united together in the body of Christ. Jesus Christ is the Head of the Church. Every local church has the right under Christ to decide and govern its own affairs. We believe in Religious freedom for all. We recognise differences in outlook and diversity of practice.
